Cebu City, Philippines – Queen City of the South 💖 Day 2 & 3

As a continuation on our trip to the Queen City of the South, our day 2 was at South Cebu, particularly in Oslob. And yes! I know you already have idea when you heard or read Oslob. Its the whaleshark/ butanding watching. Known as the gentle giants, It was began 2011 and up to now still one of the must visit in Cebu. As of this writing, the place is still contentious as to the harmful effects to the gentle giants vs to the interest of the tourist. I’ve witness it. I have pros and cons but i will just leave it to myself. Enough of it! Hahaha

Anyway, before Kuya Danny dropped us off to the Hotel on Day 1, we had an arrangement that he will pick us at the Hotel at 4am going to Oslob. Since it was far from city, we agreed to it so we can arrived early to Oslob. It will take atleast 3 -4hrs going to Oslob depending if you ride by bus/ rent a car or you have your own. We should wake up at 3am to prepare ourselves but unluckily, was not able to woke up at 3am because my phone got drained and we missed the alarm. We woke up by the ring of the telephone and it was the receptionist saying that the driver had been waiting already. I checked the time and it was 4am. We freaked out and hurriedly get ourselves ready. It was at 5am when we went down to the lobby and check out. We first buy some breakfast at 7 11 and proceeded to our service car.

Traveled for 3hrs, we arrived Tan-awan where the whaleshark watching is specifically located, there is already a bunch of people waiting. The guard told Kuya Danny that theres no whaleshark but he insisted that we should go. By then, we proceeded to the lobby area for registration and we found out that there are only two whaleshark shown because of strong current in the sea. We have no choice but to wait.

Briefing on the receiving area. The Do’s & Dont in encountering the whalesharks.

Line up is long and the area is really crowded.Patience is a virtue! We got our ticket after 2hrs. Wew!

While waiting. Envy on the people who are already their turn.

And finally, after 2 and a half hrs of waiting, standing under the sun, our number called and its our turn to ride on the boat! Woohhoooo! Here we come gentle giant.

Yay! Pics taken before boarding on the boat.

On our way. Weeeeeee!!

That the line of boats with people watching the butandings.

The boatmen feeding the gentle giant.

First glance! So huge.

I didnt go down coz im not a good swimmer but heres my BF with here new BFF. Hahaha

He told me that is was really big, he was bit afraid because it was like the whaleshark will eat him.

Another shot of the whaleshark.

The sun is shining bright.

Turnaround is 30mins to give time to other people. Take note that the whaleshark watching is up to 12noon only. There’s also shower area if you want to change and take quick shower. Since we are going to Tumalog Falls, we didnt take shower and we straight ahead to our service. From the whaleshark watching to the Falls, it will only take around 5mins + you will need to ride on a motorcycle that will lead you to the falls which only takes around 3-5mins.

There is an entrance fee on the falls but since we visited on dry season ( as in really dry), entrance fee is waived because theres only limited water falling. And yeah, the place is not that appealing as theres no water. We still manage to get wet just to refresh ourselves.

Thats how light the water is falling. So sad.

I bet if its not really dry season, this falls is so admirable.

Me at the falls. Though, i still enjoyed it.

We didnt stay for too long and after a while we decided to get out on the water and took a quick shower on the shower room provided. Said shower is so small and the smell is too bad on the women section. After that we go back to our service and leave Oslob.

Traveled for 3 hrs again, we arrived city at around 3pm, headed to Crown Regency to check in. Took a bath and rest for a while. At around 6pm, we decided to go out. We rode on a taxi and drop off at Cnt Lechon. Unfortunately, the lechon is not available letchon, it was sold out. Instead, we ordered below.

After we satisfy our cravings, we went back to the hotel and go up to see the lights at night on the top of the building.

Cebu at night.

We did not tried the edge car because its so scary. Anyhow, we watched other people who rode to it and they are screaming. Lol!

After staying at the top for about 2 hrs, we decided to go back to our room and took a rest. Thats the end of our day 2.

-3rd day-

On the 3rd day, it was our last day at Cebu. Fix our things and we went to Ayala Mall to buy pasalubong. I also request late check out at the hotel so we can still fix our pasalubong before heading to the airport. We bought tshirts and some local food like the famous shamrock otap, etc. We also ate at Cafe Laguna for our lunch.

Our flight back to Manila was delayed for 2 hrs. We instead stay and roam around at the airport after check out at the hotel.
