Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Five months ago, me and my boyfriend traveled to Kuala Lumpur where Petronas Tower is located. At first, i thought there’s only few tourist spot in this city, but im definitely wrong. Preparation of our trip took months, ( months means 7-8 months, haha). After i booked our promo fare via Cebu Pacific, i started to read blogs, reviews, sample itineraries so i can have an idea to where should i start our tour. Since i really love to plan the trip ( of course, im the only one doing it), we didn’t get travel agency. So we traveled KL last Nov 29,2016 at 8:45pm and our departure from KL- MNL was Dec 3 midnight. Totally, our trip was 4 days 3 nights.

We arrived at the airport, NAIA Terminal 3 at around 5:00pm for our 8:00PM flight. The check in counter is not yet open.

While waiting for the check in counter to be open

We then proceed first to pay the terminal fee since i read from other post that you can pay first the said fee even without the boarding pass. Just show your printed ticket and passport. After that, we wait for a while and the check in counter opened at 6:00PM. Since we do online check in, we fall in line on the drop baggage counter for our check in baggage.

Wohooo! Got our boarding pass!

After getting our boarding pass, we proceed to the immigration. The immigration officer asked few question and then allowed us to go. We ate first to Tapa King for our dinner before proceeding to the gate number assigned.

At the boarding gate waiting or the boarding announcement. Were excited!

Gate open at around 8:15 and we proceeded inside the aircraft. At exactly 8:45, the aircraft started to maneuver and were ready to fly. Im awake on the whole flight and we arrived at KLIA2 around 12:35AM. After getting off on the plane, we proceeded to the baggage carousel to get our luggage.

After getting our luggage, we go to Tune Hotel where i booked our 1 night stay to take a rest and have energy for our tomorrow trip. Tune Hotel is walking distance for about 5-10 mins walked from the airport. It has a covered walkway to the hotel. The check-n process is fast and room is good enough for two. Its perfect for long layover or just for 1night stay. By the way, before heading to the hotel, we bought first sim card with internet for 5 days to Hotlink store inside the airport.

So, our first day starts here. I booked a round trip ticket from KL to Johor Bahru to visit Legoland Malaysia. Because we missed this on our Singapore trip which is more advisable. From KL to JHB, by plane, it will take you less than 1 hr and if by land (Bus) it will take 5hrs travel time. I got the first flight to JHB at 8:30AM via airasia.

Welcome to LEGOLAND!!

Please visit my other post for our whole trip to Legoland . Decided not to include here since we accumulate our one whole day there.

DAY 2

After Legoland on our Day 1, upon arrival in KL same day, we rode on KLIA Ekspres, an express train that will lead us to KL Sentral, the center hub of all transportation.

From NU Sentral mall, we walk going to the monorail, ride and drop off at Imbi Station. We then proceeded to Sky Hotel in Bukit Bintang where we will stay for our whole trip. The hotel was located in Bukit Bintang, 1-2 mins walked from Imbi Station. Its near from mall like Sungwei Wang and Low Yat Plaza. You have to buy token on the machine located before the monorail trains because Touch N Go is not acceptable on the monorails only.

So for our 2nd day, we go to Batu Caves, Merdeka Square, Kuala Lumpur Gallery, Aquaria, Suria Mall & Petronas Tower.

From our hotel, we rode to monorail going back to KL Sentral and from there we go to KTM Komuter that will lead us to Batus Caves. Its the last station of KTM Komuter.

At the KL Sentral Station of KTM Komuter

Inside the KTM Komuter.

It will take around 30-40mins to Batu Caves. We didn’t feel the not-too-long transit as we enjoy the view outside.

Welcome to Batu Caves! Look at the statue at my back.

When we arrived at the Batu Caves, there’s already monkeys welcome us. We walked to the famous golden Buddha.

Some of the monkeys around the area.

That time the area is under construction but still open and can go upstairs. We just don’t climb coz i think i can’t do it. Its 272 steps baby!! Anyhow, i am satisfied of what i saw. Theres also a flock of doves in the area. You can fed them.

This little boy fed the doves.

After staying for almost 30mins, the light rain started to fall. We decided to go and proceed to our next itinerary. We rode again at KTM Komuter and drop off at Bank Negara Station and walk for around 10mins going to Merdeka Square.

On our way to Merdeka Square

We crossed street, walked… And finally, we arrived the the Merdeka Square. I was amazed by that colonial building in front of the square. It was just so sad that it was street was under construction and was not able to get a perfect shot.

The Sultan Abdul Samad building from Merdeka Square.

We took a lot of pictures at the ground.

Kuala Lumpur flag pole

Above picture was taken at Merdeka Square also. It was around 95meters high flag pole which ranked as 6th tallest in the world.

After that, we proceed to the KL Gallery. It should be on our next day itinerary but since it was just across Merdeka, we decided to proceed.

We love KL!! Photo taken at the front of KL Gallery.

We proceed to go inside. We first register and pay around MYR2.00.

At the entrance of gallery. They are also selling tickets.

Upon entry on the gallery.

This gallery will showcase how KL started, famous landmarks, how infrastractures done and many more.

Inside the gallery

Souvenir shop at the gallery.

Before going out on the gallery we have some snack first on the cafe inside.

Hainanese chicken chop. Thumbs up for this foodie.

After having a quick rest at the cafe, we decided to go and proceed on our next location which is the Aquaria in KLCC. We rode a taxi via grab. It was a short drive from our location.

Aquaria is located beneath the KLCC. We bought our tickets on their website. Some of the highlights of Aquaria below. Though i’m not amazed on this one as i was expecting and comparing on our Oceanpark here in the Philippines. Just for the experience.

Its a walkalator for your tiring feet!

You can finish the tour for 30-40mins. I must say that i enjoyed inside but im still expecting more. After that, our next itinerary should be KLCC park but its raining so we decided to proceed to Suria Mall which is walking distance and has walkway from KLCC. This mall is so huge. Theres a lot of signature store in Suria Mall. Upon seeing the store of Famous Amos, which is a must buy cookie, i hoarded already. It really taste good! I can finished 1 box of it, hahaha. We also went to Vincci store. Bought shoes, sandals and bag for pasalubong. Since its still raining outside, even though im excited to see the Petronas Tower, we opted to have some snack first on one of the restaurant in the mall which i forgot the name. We stayed for an hour and after that we decided to go outside. Theres still light rain but that will not stop us to see how beautiful the Petronas is. and were just in awe! Really! The structure of the Petronas Tower amazed me. Im inlove!

Who would not amaze on this one? Petronas by day.

Even theres a light rain, a lot of tourist still taking picture outside. There are also people who sells fish eye lenses which you can use to have a perfect shot of Petronas Tower.

Of course, it wouldn’t be complete if we don’t have “couple selfie”.

We took a lot of pictures like theres no tomorrow. Hahaha. We then decided to go back to hotel when the heavy rain started to feel. We just took the LRT from KLCC to KL Sentral then ride at monorail from KL Sentral to Imbi Station. We just have our dinner at KFC in Low Yat Plaza to end our 2nd day tour.
